Rural Roadway Crashes in Lawrence County
Single-vehicle crashes on rural highways, such as Business 60 near Monett, are a common occurrence due to factors such as driver distraction, roadway conditions, and unexpected hazards. Roads in less-populated areas often lack guardrails and barriers, making it easier for vehicles to leave the roadway and collide with roadside objects.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), crashes involving fixed objects like signs and culverts are among the most common causes of injury-related accidents in rural counties. In many cases, the lack of safety restraints, as seen in this incident, can increase the severity of injuries sustained in a crash.
Victims of roadway accidents may face significant medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and financial hardships due to lost wages. Understanding legal options can help those affected recover damages for their injuries and losses.
