Laurel, DE (January 20, 2025) – A serious head-on collision occurred Sunday evening on Sussex Hwy Southbound near the Dollar General in Laurel. The crash, reported around 8:06 p.m., resulted in multiple injuries, including one critical patient with a severe head injury.
Emergency responders from Laurel, Blades, Seaford, and nearby medic units arrived promptly to assist those involved. At least three individuals sustained significant injuries, with one reported in critical condition. Due to the severity of the injuries, aviation support from Trooper 2 and LifeNet was requested but was unavailable at the time.
Traffic on Sussex Hwy was redirected southbound for an extended period while authorities worked to manage the scene and provide care.
