Las Cruces, NM (December 08, 2024) – One person has died and another is injured following a tragic crash at the Imperial Sky Motel in Las Cruces on Friday morning. According to the Las Cruces Police Department (LCPD), the incident occurred around 11:30 AM when a Chevrolet Suburban was pulling out of the motel parking lot and crashed into the building. The vehicle struck two individuals: a 59-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman.
The 59-year-old man suffered injuries and was treated at the scene. Unfortunately, the 55-year-old woman was pronounced dead from her injuries at the scene of the crash. LCPD investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of the crash, but preliminary reports suggest the SUV lost control as it was pulling out of the parking lot.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released, pending family notifications. The Las Cruces Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident.
