Lansing, MI (March 5, 2025) – A 34-year-old woman from Flint was killed in a multi-vehicle crash involving two semi-trucks on westbound I-96 at US-127 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Michigan State Police reported that the crash occurred around 1:40 p.m. when the woman’s Toyota Avalon was struck from behind by a semi-truck driven by a 56-year-old man from Lansing. The impact forced the Toyota across the median, where it collided with another semi-truck driven by a 34-year-old man from Texas traveling westbound.
Tragically, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Both semi-truck drivers were uninjured.
Authorities shut down both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-96 while troopers investigated the crash and worked to clear the wreckage. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
