Langola Twp, MN (November 15, 2024) – A multi-vehicle collision involving five vehicles occurred on Friday morning on eastbound Highway 10 south of Halfway Crossing in Benton County. The crash, reported at approximately 8:24 AM, resulted in injuries to one individual.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the sequence began when a 2004 Chevy Silverado attempted to turn onto Highway 10 from Halfway Crossing, causing a chain reaction. A 2019 GMC Acadia slowed in response to a prior incident, and a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander collided with the GMC. Following this, a 2019 Kenworth tractor-trailer struck the Mitsubishi.

The Chevy Silverado’s driver, 62-year-old Dale Bert Browen of Holdingford, MN, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mayo Hospital for treatment. The drivers of the other vehicles, including a 2011 Ford Fusion, a 2019 GMC Acadia, and a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander, reported no injuries. Additionally, the Kenworth tractor-trailer driver, 31-year-old Zachary Isaac Diffendarfer of Pierz, MN, was uninjured.

Emergency responders from Benton County, the Rice Fire Department, and Mayo Ambulance provided immediate assistance at the scene. Road conditions were reported as dry at the time of the crash. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the incident.

Our thoughts are with Dale Browen, and we hope for his swift recovery.
