Lake Twp, OH (November 20, 2024) – The Swanton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle injury crash that occurred Wednesday morning involving an Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission Maintenance Truck. The crash happened at 11:52 AM on I-280 Southbound at the ramp to the Ohio Turnpike in Lake Township, Wood County.
According to the preliminary investigation, the maintenance truck, occupied by Jason Kingseed, 40, and George Roberts, 29, was stopped on the southbound shoulder with its emergency lights activated. A Ford Fusion, driven by Jean Rodriguez, 24, of Elyria, Ohio, veered off the right side of the roadway and collided with the truck.
Kingseed sustained a possible minor injury and was treated at the scene, while Roberts reported no injuries. Rodriguez also suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Two passengers in the Ford Fusion, Mariah Rosa, 24, and a juvenile, were not injured.
Emergency responders, including Lake Township Fire and EMS and Madison Motor Service, assisted at the scene, along with representatives from the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission. The investigation into the circumstances leading to the crash is ongoing.
