LaGrange, GA (March 3, 2025) – A tragic accident in LaGrange early Sunday morning resulted in the deaths of four people and left one person seriously injured.
According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), the crash occurred just after midnight at the intersection of Wares Cross Road and GA-1. A red Nissan Altima reportedly ran a red light and was struck by a white GMC Sierra 2500, which had the right of way.
The impact caused the Nissan to rotate multiple times, leading to the ejection of a backseat passenger who was not wearing a seatbelt. Tragically, the ejected passenger, along with the driver and two other occupants of the Nissan, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The GMC Sierra also spun before coming to a stop in the median. The driver of the GMC was transported to WellStar West Georgia with serious injuries.
Authorities closed the area for several hours as they conducted a thorough investigation. Further details regarding the identities of those involved have not been released.
Our deepest condolences go out to the families of the victims. We hope for the recovery of the injured driver.
Fatal Car Accidents in Georgia
Fatal car accidents in Georgia are all too common, with major highways and intersections often becoming the sites of deadly crashes. Running red lights, impaired driving, and distracted driving are leading causes of high-impact collisions across the state.
According to accident reports, seatbelt usage significantly reduces the risk of fatal injuries in motor vehicle crashes. Unfortunately, passengers who are unrestrained are at much higher risk of being ejected, which often leads to devastating consequences.
Victims of serious accidents and their families often face emotional distress, financial hardships, and legal challenges following a tragic crash. Seeking medical care and legal guidance is crucial in securing justice and compensation for those impacted.
