Labette County, KS (January 8, 2025) – A collision involving a semi-truck and a pickup truck on U.S. 400 near U.S. 59 left four people injured Tuesday night. The crash occurred just before 9:00 PM, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP).
Authorities reported that a 2006 Peterbilt semi, driven by 46-year-old John Jason Cammalleri of Lusk, Wyoming, was traveling westbound on U.S. 400 when it struck the driver’s side of a 2008 Ford F150. The Ford, driven by 25-year-old Rachel J. Haslett of Parsons, was attempting an unsafe U-turn at the time of the collision.
Emergency Medical Services transported Haslett and three passengers to Labette Health for treatment of their injuries. Among the injured were Destiny R. Miller, 25, of Pittsburg, and two children—a 3-year-old boy and a 1-year-old boy. Authorities noted that the 3-year-old was not restrained in a booster seat at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
