Kissimmee, FL (January 9, 2025) – A tragic accident claimed the life of a 66-year-old woman after she was struck by an SUV on Kings Hwy north of Henry Partin Rd on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
Authorities reported that the driver of a 2018 Chevy Suburban was traveling southbound on Kings Hwy when his vehicle struck the pedestrian, who had walked into the direct path of the oncoming SUV. Despite prompt emergency response efforts, the pedestrian, a resident of Kissimmee, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The driver, a 46-year-old man, and his 16-year-old passenger were unharmed and remained at the scene to cooperate with investigators. FHP continues to examine the circumstances leading up to the collision, including any contributing factors.
