Kiowa, OK (January 21, 2025) – A devastating car accident Sunday evening just outside Kiowa claimed one life and left four others injured. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) responded to the scene and confirmed that a 2010 Volkswagen was involved in the single-vehicle crash.
The driver, 33-year-old Antony Martinez, sustained head injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition. Leirys Subero, 46, who was seated in the front passenger seat, also suffered head injuries and is in stable condition.
Tragically, 29-year-old Elvis Arellano, a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two other passengers were injured in the crash. Pedro Diez, 24, was transported to a hospital in stable condition, while 19-year-old Carlos Aldana remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The cause of the collision is currently under investigation by OHP. Further details about the circumstances surrounding the crash have not yet been released.
