Motorcycle Accidents in South Carolina
Motorcycle crashes, like the one on Lucknow Road and Frost Road, often result in severe or fatal injuries due to the lack of protection compared to passenger vehicles. Riders are particularly vulnerable in collisions involving larger vehicles, especially when safety measures such as helmets are not utilized.
According to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, at least 33 people have lost their lives in crashes on state roads in 2025 so far. In 2024, at least 948 fatalities were recorded due to traffic collisions, highlighting the persistent dangers on South Carolina highways. In Kershaw County alone, one fatal crash has already been reported in 2025, following 10 roadway deaths in 2024.
Intersections are a common location for motorcycle accidents, as left-turning vehicles often misjudge the speed or distance of an oncoming motorcycle. Other contributing factors to motorcycle collisions include driver distraction, failure to yield, and limited visibility.
For families affected by fatal motorcycle accidents, the emotional and financial burdens can be overwhelming. Funeral expenses, medical bills, and legal concerns add to the hardship of losing a loved one. Seeking legal and financial guidance can help victims’ families navigate the aftermath and ensure they receive the necessary support.
