Pedestrian fatalities are a growing concern across Nebraska, especially in urban and high-traffic areas like Central Avenue. Crashes involving pedestrians often result in severe outcomes due to the lack of physical protection compared to vehicle occupants.
Drivers and pedestrians alike are encouraged to practice caution. Pedestrians should use crosswalks and ensure visibility at night, while drivers should remain alert, reduce speed in areas with pedestrian activity, and avoid distractions.
