Kansas City, MO (January 28, 2025) – Tragedy struck Monday morning when an adult lost their life in a house fire in the 33600 block of W. 167th St. Johnson County Fire District No. 1 officials reported the incident, which occurred just before 5 a.m.
According to a spokesperson, emergency crews were dispatched to the residence following a 911 call from one of the home’s occupants. Upon arrival, firefighters learned that the caller had successfully escaped the burning house but reported that another person was still trapped inside.
Firefighters entered the structure and located the victim, who was removed through an upstairs window. Despite their efforts, paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The second resident was unharmed, and fire crews managed to extinguish the blaze.
