Kansas City, MO (December 17, 2024) – A multi-vehicle crash Monday evening on I-70, just west of Adam’s Dairy Parkway, resulted in two people being hospitalized and significant vehicle damage. The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash began when a 24-year-old woman driving a Ford Taurus struck a second vehicle, a Toyota Tacoma driven by a 65-year-old man. The collision caused a chain reaction, sending the Tacoma into a third vehicle, a GMC Acadia driven by a 45-year-old woman, and subsequently into a fourth vehicle, a Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by a 52-year-old woman.
The Ford Taurus and Toyota Tacoma were totaled in the crash. The driver of the Ford Taurus sustained moderate injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the GMC Acadia sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital. The driver of the Tacoma was uninjured, though his vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene. The Chevrolet Trailblazer, which sustained minor damage, was able to be driven away, and its driver was uninjured.
All individuals involved in the crash were reportedly wearing their seatbelts, which likely prevented more severe injuries. The Blue Springs Police Department assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol at the scene.
Our thoughts are with those injured in the crash, and we wish them a full recovery.
