Wrong-Way Accidents in Missouri
Wrong-way collisions are among the most devastating types of crashes, often resulting in severe injuries or fatalities due to the high speeds and head-on impact. These accidents commonly occur due to impaired driving, driver confusion, or lack of proper roadway signage. Interstate highways like I-70 are particularly prone to wrong-way crashes, where opposing lanes of traffic are separated only by barriers or medians.
Missouri has implemented measures such as enhanced signage, rumble strips, and public awareness campaigns to combat wrong-way driving. However, these accidents persist and continue to pose significant risks to public safety.
For families affected by fatal wrong-way accidents, the aftermath can be emotionally and financially overwhelming. Victims may face not only the grief of losing a loved one but also the challenges of navigating insurance claims, medical expenses, and legal proceedings.
