Kansas City, MO (February 24, 2025) – A deadly house fire late Saturday night claimed the life of a 65-year-old man and left another person injured in Kansas City.
Firefighters with the Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD) responded to reports of a fire at a single-family home in the 1600 block of Bristol Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m. Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy flames and immediately entered the residence to search for two people believed to be trapped inside.
One of the occupants managed to escape the home without assistance, sustaining injuries that were not considered life-threatening. However, firefighters discovered the second victim, a 65-year-old man described as immobile, inside the residence. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Firefighters worked quickly to bring the fire under control, fully extinguishing it around midnight. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire, and an investigation is ongoing.
