Kaneohe, HI (January 26, 2025) – A tragic vehicular collision occurred on the H-3 freeway near the Likelike Highway offramp at approximately 3:45 p.m., claiming the life of a 22-year-old woman. The accident caused a portion of the freeway to be closed for over five hours as authorities conducted their investigation and cleared the scene.
According to the Honolulu Police Department (HPD), a 24-year-old male motorist driving a flatbed truck lost control of the vehicle. The truck veered off the roadway onto the right shoulder and collided with a vehicle parked on the shoulder. The 22-year-old woman was inside the parked vehicle at the time of the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male motorist remained at the scene and was not injured in the crash. Authorities initially misidentified the victim as being in her 30s but later confirmed her age as 22.
