Joplin, MO (December 20, 2024) – A serious two-vehicle accident on MO 66, approximately 1.4 miles west of Joplin, resulted in injuries to three individuals early Thursday morning. Emergency responders, including paramedics from METS Ambulance, quickly arrived at the scene to assess and treat the victims.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:35 a.m. when a 1998 Ford F-150, traveling southbound, collided with a 2002 Ford Taurus heading east. Preliminary investigations revealed that the Ford F-150 pulled into the path of the Taurus, leading to a significant impact that caused extensive damage to both vehicles. Both were deemed total losses and were towed from the scene by Cottrill’s Towing.
Among the injured were the 51-year-old driver of the Ford F-150 and a 26-year-old male occupant of the same vehicle. Both sustained serious injuries and were transported to Freeman West by METS Ambulance. The driver of the Ford Taurus, a 32-year-old woman from Pittsburg, MO, was also treated for minor injuries and transported for further medical evaluation.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No further details have been released at this time.
