Johnston County, NC (November 10, 2024) – A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of NC 96 North and Covered Bridge Road on Saturday afternoon sent all three occupants involved to area hospitals. The incident caused significant disruptions in the area as emergency crews worked to assist the injured.
The Corinth Holders Fire Department quickly responded to the scene and found one man trapped inside his overturned pickup truck. Emergency responders worked to extricate him before transporting him to the hospital. Meanwhile, the airbags deployed in a small passenger car traveling northbound, minimizing the injuries of its driver and passenger. Both occupants of the car were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses described the dramatic crash, with one recalling the pickup truck “in the air” before it veered off the road and overturned. The passenger car reportedly spun around after colliding with the truck.
