Johnson, MO (September 28, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on the evening of September 27, 2024, at approximately 8:54 PM on SW 271st Road, just north of SW 1200th Road. The incident prompted a response from local law enforcement and emergency services.
According to the crash report, Turner R. George, an 18-year-old male from Warrensburg, MO, was driving a 2004 Dodge truck when he lost control while accelerating through a curve. The truck veered off the roadway, struck a ditch, overturned, and collided with a fence. The vehicle was deemed a total loss and was towed from the scene by Tip Top Tow.
Tragically, Turner George was pronounced dead at 10:00 PM by Deputy Coroner Noah Harness. This incident marks Troop A’s 59th fatal crash and the 68th fatality of the year. Next of kin have been notified.
Three people were in the vehicle with George: a 17-year-old male juvenile from Chilhowee, MO, and two 18-year-old males, Wylie M. Grant from Chilhowee, MO, and Timothy N. Toole from Centerview, MO. The juvenile sustained injuries and was wearing a safety device but refused treatment at the scene, while both Grant and Toole also refused treatment despite sustaining minor injuries.
