Johnson County, IA (November 13, 2024) – A juvenile was hospitalized with injuries following a collision involving an e-bike and a car Tuesday morning near Kalona. Emergency responders, including paramedics and sheriff’s deputies, rushed to the scene at the intersection of Highway 1 and 560th St SW around 8:45 a.m.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, the juvenile was riding an e-bike and attempted to cross Highway 1 from 560th Street when they were struck by a southbound car. The driver of the vehicle was unharmed. However, the injured juvenile was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
