Jerome County, ID (February 18, 2025) – A 54-year-old man from Filer lost his life following a two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 93 Tuesday morning, according to Idaho State Police.
The crash happened at approximately 7:50 a.m. at the intersection of US-93 and 100 South. Authorities reported that the man was driving a 2005 Subaru Legacy northbound on US-93 when he attempted to turn left onto 100 South. His vehicle failed to yield to oncoming traffic and collided with a southbound 2019 Ford F250 pickup.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, and the driver of the Subaru was transported to a nearby hospital. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries. Police confirmed that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The 25-year-old Bellevue man driving the Ford F250 was wearing a seatbelt and was not transported to the hospital.
The crash caused significant disruptions, with authorities blocking the intersection for approximately three hours while conducting their investigation. Idaho State Police continue to review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
