Jefferson, MO (October 17, 2024) – A serious multi-vehicle accident occurred on October 16, 2024, at approximately 2:58 PM on westbound Route B at Butcher Branch Road. The incident involved four vehicles and prompted a swift response from local emergency services.
According to preliminary reports, the accident began when a 2019 Chevrolet Spark, driven by 56-year-old Deborah Anderson from Festus, MO, slowed down to make a left turn onto Butcher Branch Road. A 2016 Peterbilt 379, operated by 28-year-old Aaron Langan from Jackson, MO, attempted to stop but struck the rear of the Chevrolet Spark. The impact caused the Spark to skid across the center of the roadway, leading to further collisions.
As the Chevrolet Spark skidded, it was struck on the left side by a 2023 Ford F-450 Box Truck driven by 46-year-old Ronald Sweeney from Farmington, MO. This collision caused the Ford truck to overturn. Meanwhile, a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by 31-year-old Taylor Coe from DeSoto, MO, swerved to avoid the crash, resulting in the vehicle traveling off the roadway.
Deborah Anderson sustained serious injuries in the accident and was transported to Mercy Hospital South by Valle Ambulance for medical treatment. The other drivers involved reported varying degrees of damage to their vehicles but did not suffer serious injuries.
