Jefferson County, MO (January 28, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision occurred late Monday morning on New Sugar Creek Rd, north of MO-30, resulting in injuries to one driver. The crash was reported at approximately 11:30 a.m. and involved a 2010 Honda Accord and a 2022 Tesla Model 3.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened when the driver of the Honda Accord, a 65-year-old female from Fenton, MO, failed to notice the northbound Tesla approaching on New Sugar Creek Rd. The Honda turned in front of the Tesla, leading to a front-end collision. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene by High Ridge Towing.

The driver of the Honda sustained moderate injuries and was transported by the North Jefferson County Fire Protection District to Mercy Hospital South for treatment. The driver of the Tesla, a 28-year-old male from House Springs, MO, was reportedly uninjured.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash. Our thoughts are with the injured driver, and we wish her a speedy and full recovery.

Intersection Collisions in Missouri

Collisions at intersections are a leading cause of traffic accidents in Missouri, often resulting from misjudgment, distraction, or failure to yield. Rural and suburban roads, such as New Sugar Creek Rd, present additional risks due to limited visibility and higher speeds. Drivers are reminded to exercise caution, remain alert, and ensure the roadway is clear before proceeding through intersections.

Accidents of this nature often result in significant vehicle damage and injuries, as seen in this case. Adhering to traffic rules and practicing defensive driving are key measures to reduce the likelihood of such incidents.

For victims of intersection collisions, the aftermath can involve physical recovery, dealing with insurance claims, and navigating the emotional impact of the crash. Accessing proper support and resources is crucial to overcoming these challenges.
