Rear-End Collisions in Missouri
Rear-end collisions are one of the most common types of crashes on Missouri roadways, often occurring when drivers fail to notice stopped or slowing traffic ahead. These accidents can be caused by distracted driving, tailgating, or reduced visibility. Even at lower speeds, rear-end crashes can result in injuries such as whiplash, back injuries, and concussions.
Missouri follows an at-fault insurance system, meaning that the driver responsible for the accident may be held liable for damages, including medical expenses and lost wages. Victims of rear-end collisions may have the right to seek compensation from the at-fault driver’s insurance provider.
To help prevent rear-end crashes, drivers should always maintain a safe following distance, stay alert to traffic conditions, and minimize distractions while behind the wheel.
