Jefferson County, MO (February 25, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision on southbound MO-141, north of Romaine Creek Road, left one person injured Monday morning. The crash, which occurred around 9:27 a.m., resulted in both vehicles being severely damaged and towed from the scene.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened when a 2019 Volkswagen Golf, traveling eastbound, failed to yield to a southbound 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. The front left side of the Volkswagen collided with the front right side of the Chevrolet. Following the impact, the Malibu veered off the left side of the roadway, striking a concrete bridge barrier before coming to rest in the median. Meanwhile, the Volkswagen crashed into a metal guardrail.

Emergency responders from the Rock Township Ambulance District arrived to assess injuries. The 34-year-old female driver of the Volkswagen, a resident of Fenton, MO, sustained injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital – South for treatment. The 56-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet was not reported injured.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Traffic delays were reported in the area as crews worked to clear the wreckage.

Our thoughts go out to the injured driver, and we wish her a speedy recovery.

Car Accidents in Missouri

Missouri roadways frequently see accidents caused by failure to yield, which remains a leading factor in collisions. When drivers misjudge right-of-way or make sudden movements at high speeds, the results can be devastating, especially on busy highways like MO-141.

Guardrails and bridge barriers play a crucial role in preventing vehicles from veering into oncoming traffic, but they can also cause significant damage in high-impact crashes. In this case, both vehicles sustained extensive damage after colliding with roadside barriers, highlighting the risks associated with high-speed impacts.

Even when injuries appear minor, seeking medical evaluation after an accident is critical. Some symptoms of internal injuries or whiplash may not be immediately apparent. Additionally, those involved in accidents may have legal options to pursue compensation for medical costs, vehicle repairs, and other damages.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a car accident in Missouri, understanding your rights is essential. Seeking guidance can help ensure you receive the necessary support and resources for recovery.
