Jefferson County, MO – Fatal Crash with Injuries on US Rte 67 near I-55

Jefferson County, MO (September 7, 2024) – A man was killed, and another was injured in a crash early Friday morning, September 6. The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified James M. Nelson, 40, of Barnhart, MO, as the victim. The crash occurred around 1:45 a.m. in the northbound lanes of US Rte 67 near I-55. 

Nelson’s vehicle crossed the center line, colliding with another car before hitting a concrete barrier. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead. The passenger, also 40, sustained moderate injuries and remains hospitalized.

Authorities are investigating the crash and will provide updates as more details become available.
