Jefferson County, MO (December 13, 2024) – A crash occurred Thursday afternoon at 3:00 PM on US Highway 67 at Montebello Road in Jefferson County, involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle. The incident resulted in injuries to the motorcyclist and moderate damage to both vehicles.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2007 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle, driven by an 18-year-old male from Imperial, MO, was traveling southbound on US 67. As the motorcycle approached Montebello Road, a 2020 Lincoln MKZ, driven by a 68-year-old male from Festus, MO, was stopped on Montebello Road and attempting to make a left turn onto southbound US 67.

As the Lincoln entered the highway, the motorcyclist attempted to avoid a collision but was unable to. The front of the motorcycle struck the front passenger side of the Lincoln MKZ.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a safety device, sustained injuries and was transported by Rock Township Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital South for treatment. The driver of the Lincoln MKZ was unharmed and was able to drive away from the scene, with the vehicle suffering moderate damage.

The motorcycle was towed by Family Towing due to extensive damage. Both vehicles were insured, with the motorcycle owner covered by none, and the Lincoln’s driver insured through State Farm.
