Jasper, FL (November 26, 2024) – A fatal head-on collision between two semi-trucks early Tuesday morning left one man dead and another critically injured. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports that the crash occurred at approximately 3:45 a.m. near Northwest 86th Avenue, just outside the town of Jennings.
One of the drivers, a 57-year-old man from Lake City, was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash but sustained fatal injuries. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at Shands Live Oak Hospital. The second driver, a 48-year-old man from Douglas, Georgia, was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered critical injuries. He was transported to Georgia for medical treatment.
The incident remains under investigation, with Cpl. N. Morgan of FHP serving as the lead homicide investigator. No further details regarding the cause of the crash have been released.
