Intersection Safety in Wisconsin
Accidents at intersections, such as the one at County Rd H and County Rd A, highlight the critical importance of adhering to traffic control measures. Intersections without proper attention to stop signs or signals are common sites for collisions, often resulting in severe injuries or fatalities.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation identifies failure to stop and failure to yield as leading causes of intersection crashes statewide. Rural intersections, where visibility may be limited, pose additional risks.
Safety advocates encourage drivers to slow down as they approach intersections, check all directions for oncoming traffic, and remain attentive to posted signs and signals.
