Jacksonville, FL – Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run on Trout River Bridge

Jacksonville, FL (September 12, 2024) – A 63-year-old Georgia woman was fatally struck in a hit-and-run on the Trout River Bridge early Thursday morning. Florida Highway Patrol reports that the woman had exited her parked vehicle on the right shoulder of Interstate 95 around 12:30 AM when an unknown vehicle hit her and fled the scene.

Authorities believe the suspect’s vehicle is a 2016-2019 black or dark-colored Ford Explorer with front right bumper damage and a missing side mirror.

The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement is actively seeking information to locate the vehicle and driver. Further updates will be provided as the inquiry progresses.
