Jacksonville, FL – One Killed in Truck Accident on Dunn Creek Rd

Jacksonville, FL (September 3, 2024) – An 18-year-old girl died in a truck accident on Monday, September 2, on Dunn Creek Rd in North Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. when a Dodge RAM 1500 Crew Cab, carrying five people, failed to negotiate a 90-degree turn near the 14200 block.

The truck veered off the road, smashed through a barrier, and struck a tree. The victim’s friend attempted CPR, but she was pronounced dead by Jacksonville Fire Rescue at the scene. The four other occupants, aged 17 to 22, were uninjured.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
