Jacksonville, FL (November 27, 2024) – A motorcyclist tragically lost their life Tuesday evening after a collision with a pickup truck at the intersection of Argyle Forest Blvd and Spencers Trace Dr in Jacksonville’s Argyle Forest area. The crash occurred around 6:15 PM.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO), the motorcyclist, whose identity has not been released, was traveling east on Argyle Forest Blvd when the pickup truck driver, pulling out from a stop sign at Spencers Trace Dr, entered the motorcycle’s path. The collision was severe, and despite the swift response from Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Early indications from JSO suggest that the truck driver is “probably most at fault,” barring evidence of excessive speed by the motorcyclist. Sergeant Hungerford of the JSO noted that darkness might have contributed to the driver’s failure to see the motorcycle, but there were no signs of impairment.
