Jacksonville, FL (October 23, 2024) – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred Tuesday night on Interstate 295, resulting in the death of a 33-year-old man from Jacksonville. According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place as the motorcyclist was traveling northbound in the left lane near Morse Avenue.
At the same time, a 55-year-old man from Middleburg was driving an SUV in the right lane, also heading northbound on I-295. The FHP report indicates that the motorcyclist was “traveling at a high rate of speed” when he changed lanes and struck the back of the SUV. Unfortunately, the impact was severe, and the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV did not suffer any injuries in the crash.
