Jacksonville, FL (January 1, 2025) – A tragic pedestrian accident occurred on New Year’s Eve on Beach Blvd near St. Johns Bluff Rd, resulting in the death of a 68-year-old Jacksonville woman. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that the incident happened at approximately 10:00 PM.
According to authorities, a pickup truck driven by a 38-year-old Jacksonville man was traveling westbound in the outside lane of Beach Blvd when it struck the pedestrian as she attempted to cross the roadway northbound. Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported the woman to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
