Jackson Twp, OH (March 7, 2025) – A fatal collision involving a semi-truck claimed the life of a Lancaster man on Thursday afternoon. The crash occurred around 3:10 p.m. on State Route 37 near Flagdale Road in Perry County.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), 71-year-old William Konkler was driving a Nissan westbound on SR-37 when he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with an eastbound International semi-truck. Both vehicles veered off the roadway and struck a guardrail.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Konkler was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash.
