Jackson, NE (December 29, 2024) – A tragic two-vehicle accident occurred Friday evening, December 27, on Highway 20 near the 1300 block, approximately two miles west of Jackson, Nebraska. Foggy conditions were reported as a contributing factor in the crash.
According to a press release, a Nissan Maxima traveling west collided with an eastbound GMC Sierra pickup at approximately 7:30 p.m. The crash resulted in the deaths of both drivers. The driver of the Nissan Maxima was identified as 68-year-old David Podany of Allen, Nebraska, while the driver of the GMC Sierra was 26-year-old Christopher Wedmore of Lawton, Iowa.
The collision also caused injuries to two passengers in the GMC Sierra, a 26-year-old female and a 3-year-old child. Both passengers were transported to a nearby medical facility and are currently listed as stable.
