Jackson, MS (September 7, 2024) – A 60-year-old man, Ricky Hart, was fatally struck by a vehicle on I-55 North near the Woodrow Wilson Ave exit. The tragic incident occurred early Friday morning, September 6 as confirmed by Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart.

The crash temporarily blocked the northbound lanes of I-55, but traffic resumed by 6:15 a.m., according to Capitol Police officials at the scene. Emergency services quickly arrived, but Hart succumbed to his injuries.
