Jackson County, OR (November 12, 2024) – A tragic collision on Sunday morning at the intersection of Highway 99 and Ellen Avenue resulted in the death of one passenger and serious injuries to multiple individuals. The crash occurred at approximately 11:40 a.m., causing significant traffic disruptions for several hours as emergency responders and investigators worked at the scene.
The Oregon State Police (OSP) reported that the collision occurred when a Ford Windstar, driven by 72-year-old Timothy J. Hunt of Medford, attempted to turn onto Highway 99. The vehicle was struck by a northbound Toyota Camry driven by 26-year-old Brian I. Paramo Zizumbo, also of Medford.
The force of the impact tragically ejected and killed one passenger in the Ford, identified as 76-year-old Brian R. Foreman of Central Point. Hunt and another passenger in the Ford, 85-year-old Jeanette I. Cox, sustained severe injuries. Both drivers were also seriously injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Emergency responders, including members of the Oregon State Police, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Central Point Police Department, Jackson County Fire District 3, and the Oregon Department of Transportation, collaborated on the scene to manage the incident and assist those affected.
