Isle of Wight County, VA (November 24, 2024) – A tragic car crash in Isle of Wight County on Saturday evening claimed the life of one man and left another person with life-threatening injuries.
According to Virginia State Police (VSP), the crash occurred shortly before 5 p.m. near the 11000 block of Foursquare Rd, north of Tings Rd. Investigators reported that 44-year-old Tariq Holloman, driving southbound, crossed the double solid lines into the northbound lane, colliding head-on with another car.
Holloman died at the scene of the crash. The driver of the second car, identified as Amee Riste, sustained life-threatening injuries and was flown to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment.
VSP stated that speed was a contributing factor in the crash, though it remains unclear if alcohol was involved. Investigators continue to work on determining the full circumstances of the collision.
