Immokalee, FL (November 16, 2024) – Two people tragically lost their lives in a fiery crash late Friday night on State Road 82, west of Gator Slough Lane. The collision, reported around 11:35 PM, involved a head-on crash between an SUV and a sedan.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a 60-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both from Lehigh Acres, were the drivers of the respective vehicles. The man was traveling eastbound in the SUV, while the woman was heading westbound in the sedan.
FHP stated that the SUV left its lane, causing the two vehicles to collide head-on. The impact caused both vehicles to catch fire, and the flames quickly engulfed them. Tragically, both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation by FHP.
