Huntington, MA (November 20, 2024) – A 74-year-old woman from Becket tragically lost her life following a head-on collision with a cement truck in Huntington on Monday evening. The accident occurred around 5:00 p.m. on Pond Brook Rd near Old Town Rd.
According to Northwestern District Attorney’s Office spokesperson Laurie Loisel, the crash involved a vehicle driven by the woman and a cement truck operated by a 59-year-old man from Huntington. Emergency responders transported the woman to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton before transferring her to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, where she passed away at approximately 11:30 p.m. Her identity has not yet been released.
Authorities, including Huntington Police, State Police detectives from the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, and specialized units such as the Crime Scene Services Section and the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, are investigating the cause of the crash.
