Humansville, MO (March 10, 2025) – A tragic head-on collision on Route N, four miles west of Humansville, claimed the life of one driver Sunday evening. The fatal crash occurred at approximately 5:48 p.m. and is under investigation by Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Major Crash Investigation Unit.

According to authorities, a 2001 Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound when it crossed the center of the roadway, colliding head-on with a westbound 2022 Ram 2500. The impact caused total damage to both vehicles, which were later removed by Nichols Towing & Recovery and C&H Towing.

Tragically, the driver of the Ford F-150, a 33-year-old man from Flemington, MO, was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Cedar County Deputy Coroner Joe Trussell pronounced him deceased at the scene at 6:11 p.m. The driver of the Ram 2500, a 21-year-old man from Humansville, was wearing a seatbelt and survived the collision. His condition has not been disclosed.

This marks the 22nd fatality in Troop D’s jurisdiction for 2025.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time.

Head-On Collisions and Seatbelt Safety in Missouri

Head-on crashes are among the deadliest types of accidents on Missouri roadways. When a vehicle crosses the centerline, drivers often have little time to react, leading to severe or fatal consequences. Factors such as distraction, fatigue, or road conditions can contribute to these tragic events.

In this accident, the driver of the Ford F-150 was not wearing a seatbelt, which may have contributed to the fatal outcome. Studies consistently show that seatbelt use significantly reduces the risk of severe injury or death in crashes. Missouri law requires all front-seat occupants to wear seatbelts, and safety experts strongly encourage seatbelt use for all vehicle occupants at all times.

Victims of head-on collisions and their families may face overwhelming medical expenses, emotional trauma, and legal challenges. Seeking legal guidance can help them understand their options for financial recovery and support.

As authorities continue investigating this crash, drivers are reminded to stay alert, obey traffic laws, and always wear seatbelts to reduce the risk of serious injuries.
