Hull, IA (November 21, 2024) – A two-vehicle crash on Highway 75, two miles west of Hull, resulted in injuries to both drivers on Wednesday morning. The accident occurred around 8:30 AM, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
The collision happened when 23-year-old Iris Mendoza of Sheldon lost control of her 2002 Jeep Liberty while traveling southbound on Highway 75. Her vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a northbound 2023 Honda CRV Sport driven by 65-year-old Kelly Kay Kots of Ireton.
Both Mendoza and Kots sustained injuries and were transported by the Hull Ambulance to Sioux Center Health for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.
Authorities cited Mendoza for failure to maintain control of her vehicle and for failure to provide proof of vehicle liability insurance. Her Jeep Liberty sustained an estimated $7,000 in damage, while the Honda CRV was totaled.
The accident remains under investigation.
