According to preliminary investigations, the Kawasaki motorcycle operated by the 63-year-old man was traveling southbound on US-19 when it crossed the median and collided with a northbound Ford Edge. The impact of the crash was severe, leading to the motorcyclist being pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford Edge, a 34-year-old woman from Crystal River, along with a 12-year-old passenger, sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization. The Florida Highway Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine the cause.
