Hopkinsville, KY – Woman Dies in House Fire on West 16th Street

Hopkinsville, KY (November 11, 2024) – A tragic house fire on West 16th Street claimed the life of a 37-year-old woman Monday afternoon. Hopkinsville Fire Department Chief Steve Futrell reported that smoke and flames were visible from the second story of the home when firefighters arrived.

The victim, identified as Shatikia Brime, was found inside the home by first responders. She was rushed to Jennie Stuart Health with severe burns, and CPR was in progress during transport. Tragically, the Christian County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Brime succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Her family has since been notified.

The home, located at the intersection of West 16th Street and Phelps Avenue, sustained significant damage. The Hopkinsville Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire, though no details have been released at this time.
