Hopkinsville, KY (November 19, 2024) – A collision at the intersection of Eagle Way and Canton Pike Tuesday afternoon resulted in injuries to two individuals and required one to be flown to a nearby hospital.
According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, the crash involved two SUVs. Authorities reported that 80-year-old Robert Ellis of Hopkinsville was attempting to turn onto Canton Pike when his vehicle entered the path of a second SUV driven by 68-year-old Laverna White of Cadiz, traveling along Eagle Way. The resulting collision left both drivers injured.
Emergency responders from Hopkinsville Fire and Rescue quickly arrived at the scene, providing care to the injured victims. Both Ellis and White were transported by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Health for treatment. Shortly after arriving, Ellis was airlifted to a hospital in Evansville, IN, due to the severity of his injuries. White remains at Jennie Stuart Health in stable condition.
