Hilliard, OH (November 24, 2024) – Police are investigating two separate crashes on Interstate 270 near Hilliard that occurred within minutes of each other on Saturday evening. Tragically, one of the collisions resulted in the death of a 36-year-old woman, Haley Ziverts.
The first crash occurred around 8:45 p.m. in the northbound lanes and involved three vehicles. According to city officials, there were no serious injuries in this incident.
Just 10 minutes later, a second crash involving four vehicles was reported in the same area, just south of the initial collision. Police stated that a Pontiac G6 sedan struck a Honda Civic driven by Ziverts. The impact caused the Civic to collide with a BMW M4, which then hit a Honda CRV.
Ziverts was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The other individuals involved did not report life-threatening injuries.
The interstate was closed for several hours for investigation and cleanup, reopening around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. The cause of both crashes remains under investigation by law enforcement.
