Hickman, NE (March 8, 2025) – A Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) pursuit ended in a crash near Hickman, resulting in two injuries on Friday evening. The incident occurred around 6:49 p.m. at Hickman Road and South 12th Street. According to NSP, a trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop after observing a vehicle failing to maintain its lane while traveling northbound on Highway 77 near Princeton. The driver, however, refused to stop and continued driving erratically.
Less than two minutes later, the vehicle crossed into the southbound lanes of Highway 77 and collided with another vehicle south of Roca Road. Emergency medical units were dispatched to the scene. The driver of the suspect vehicle was flown to a local hospital in critical condition, while the driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Due to the crash, Highway 77 southbound, between Winch Way and Nebraska Highway 33, was closed to all traffic except emergency vehicles. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, and the Nebraska State Patrol is expected to release additional details soon.
