Hernando County, FL (November 29, 2024) – A tragic crash occurred Thursday evening in Hernando County when a motorcycle collided with a Chevy Equinox at the intersection of Ayers Rd and US 41. The incident, which happened just after 4 p.m., resulted in the death of a 45-year-old man from Spring Hill.
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the 44-year-old driver of the Chevy Equinox, a Brooksville resident, was traveling eastbound on Ayers Rd and was attempting to make a left turn onto US 41 when he was struck by the motorcyclist, who was traveling westbound. The motorcycle, driven by the 45-year-old man, collided with the SUV, which was in the motorcyclist’s path. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, but the motorcyclist was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevy Equinox was unharmed in the crash.
